Ms Hlahla boast a sterling record as CEO of ACSA, she helped grow the company from a R1.5 billion revenue-making entity when she took over in 2001 to a reported revenue growth of 32% to R4.7 billiion in 2011.
Holds Bachelor and Honours degrees in economics and a Masters degree in urban and regional planning. During her studies Hlahla worked for the Coalition for Women’s Economic Development in Los Angeles.
In 2002 Hlahla was named as one of the top 12 Business Personalities in South Africa, and in 2004 was one of the top five Women in Business and Government. In 2005 she received the Business Women Association’s (BWA) Business Woman of the Year award, and the Black Business Quarterly (BBQ) Magazine’s Woman of the Year award.
She has held Directorship positions in private and state owned entities such as the Industrial Development Corporation; Air Traffic Navigation Services and ABSA Bank Limited. She also served as Vice-Chairman and special advisor to the chairman of Airports Council International World Governing Body.
